Over the years, her stories have allowed her to explore space, talk to dragons, dodge bullets with assassins, hang with vampires, and fall in love again and again. In a novella this short, it's a wonder Jocelynn Drake can get in so many plots, subplots, and characters as she has without taking your breath away (well, she does in her sex scenes). This is a remarkably quick, easy and quite beautifully written read, with a denouement and epilogue which leaves out all the bloody details you might expect in a book with these many clichés and cliché characters.
