I hopeAt seventeen, Rick Albright left his home, his parents and even his old name, rather than pretend to be straight. "The Family We Make" is, perhaps, just a touch melodramatic. Doesn't matter. The book is so authentically heartfelt and, ultimately, deeply moving, that even the melodrama seems exactly right. Rick (real name, Clint, but he keeps changing it) starts out just as he's being rescued from the streets by his recently-former-Marine big brother, Sam.
